Eskdalemuir Community Hub

Eskdalemuir Community Hub

Eskdalemuir Community Hub & Old School Café, run and owned by the local community. Fully licensed. Delicious food local produce and home cooking. Drinks, snacks and lunches.

"The Hub" lies in the tranquil village of Eskdalemuir, home to a population of approximately 265 residents. Situated in the Esk valley, the Hub nestles amongst the surrounding hills and sits mere yards from a babbling stream, which runs into the nearby river Esk.

Due to our close vicinity to the river, you may have to stop to let the local ducks waddle past when you approach. In fact, such is the nature of our quiet village, you are more likely to have to slow your car down for crossing ducks or sheep than for pedestrians!

We have a shop with local crafts and gifts and some essentials for rural living. Outside we have disabled parking, motorbike parking, and glass recycling. Behind the building we have safe bicycle parking, all access childrens play park.

We have a number of solar panels out side as well and we are investigating other ways of being more self sustainable. Upstairs we have a swap shop for people to swap unwanted items, which is great for a look around, you can give a donation if you have nothing to swap.

We have a monthly Sunday afternoon open music session which are great fun, and we have a Sunday lunch which attracts people from near and far.

Activities here are very varied and can be found on our facebook page. We welcome everyone to come and enjoy the Hub. We want them to come a visitor and leave a friend.

A few minutes drive away is the awe-inspiring Samye Ling Buddhist Monastery and Tibetan Centre. Visitors are welcome to walk round the gardens and experience the peace in the temple.
